Poultry Leaders Meeting 11/21/24
First Tucson Fancy Fowl is coming up next Saturday on the 30th. They have left registration open until the 23rd but showmanship can be registered for the morning of.
November 30th is also the last day to order commercial ducks so be sure to get the word out to your club. Those should arrive at the beginning of January.
Turkeys have been ordered and will be hatching the 2nd of December so anyone who ordered needs to be ready to pick them up that week with Cash and have a warm brooder ready at home!
There is confirmation that the IN person YQCA will be happening on December 8th at 2pm at the Ag Center Mobile Building! Registration is open now. Kids need to not only sign up but take a pretest as well before showing up. There are fifty seats available but more can be made if needed. Remember that YQCA needs to be turned into me by January 31st. I want a picture or pdf of the certificate from all the kids in the project. I don't care if they individually email them or if as a leader you gather them and send them en masse. They need to come to this email and the name of the kid, the expiration date and the certification number all need to be able to be seen clearly.
There will be a clinic on January 12 at 2pm at the Ag Center Mobile Building. The topic is not set in stone at the moment but it will include things that kids need to know for the fair like reading coop cards, bathing a bird, and what to bring.
Finally, remember attendance to two Pima County Poultry events is required. It can be done by attending two clinics, two shows, or one of each. Two have already happened, the October clinic and Fur and Feather. There are still three to come, Tucson Fancy Fowl, the January clinic and the 4H RoundUp Expo in Febuary. If there is a conflict and attendance at two of these is impossible I have at least three others that will be accepted IF it is discussed with me Before it becomes a problem (two are in January and one in February). If I approve of another show I will expect to be sent a picture of the kid at the show or of the registration form, something to tell me they actually attended.
