Yes! Typically, poultry that is healthy and of good quality are fine to show in 4-H! Exhibitors will bring all kinds of birds from hatchery, feed store, backyard, breeders and those they have hatched themselves! You will see a range of poultry brought to 4-H. Chickens, ducks, geese, turkey, guinea fowl and quail are all poultry you’ll likely see here!
We encourage kids to bring their best birds to shows.

No, but it is encouraged! Being a member of the ABA and/or APA will give you to opportunity to earn points at any sanctioned shows! The 2025 Pima County Fair will be sanctioned and our judges are ABA/APA licensed! So, you'll be able to earn points at our fair as well. Check out the ABA and APA website for information on how to become a member!

Yes there is. The deadline will be posted as soon as we know when it is. Usually it falls around October.

You can find birds at hatcheries, feed stores and local breeders. If you ever need help finding birds let us know! You can also check out our Bird Finder Page to connect with other 4-H members for birds!

No! No animals are allowed into the barn at any time!

Poultry exhibitors are required to attend at least two events prior to the Pima County Fair in April. We are looking for attendance at two county events in any combination. You can attend two shows, two clinics or one show and one clinic. The shows that will count toward this are Fur and Feather, Tucson Fancy Fowl and the 4-H Stock Show and Round Up. There are two clinics, one in October and One in January.
